Leave the complete vehicle, wheel-and-tyre assemblies or loose wheels at our Kirk Hammerton workshop.
Tyre removal and inspection
Tyres, weights, valves and centre caps are removed. Wheels are inspected for cracks, buckles and corrosion.
Chemical stripping
Existing paint, lacquer and previous coatings are removed to expose the bare alloy beneath.
Preparation and correction
Surface damage is prepared and the wheel is cleaned and blasted to create the correct foundation for coating.
Coating and machining

Reassembly and quality control
Tyres are refitted and balanced, pressures checked and completed wheels undergo final inspection.
Complete refurbishment
Powder coating from bare alloy
Our powder coating process begins by chemically removing the previous finish, allowing the complete wheel to be inspected and restored.
Following preparation, powder primer, colour and protective lacquer are applied in controlled stages to create a consistent and durable finish.
- Full chemical stripping
- Surface preparation and damage correction
- Powder primer, colour and lacquer
- Gloss, satin and OEM-style colours
- Tyre removal, refitting and balancing
Precision CNC diamond cutting
Three specialist lathes. The right machine for the job.
Pure Auto Design operates three specialist diamond-cutting lathes. Each machine is suited to different wheel sizes, profiles and machining requirements.
Once the coloured background has been refurbished, a very fine layer is machined from the face to recreate the bright factory-style finish. Protective lacquer is then applied.
Not every wheel is suitable for another cut. Previous machining, wheel profile, damage and remaining material are assessed before work begins.
- Three specialist diamond-cutting lathes
- Different machines for different wheel profiles
- Wheel condition assessed before machining
- Background colour fully refurbished first
- Protective lacquer applied after cutting
Specialist workshop equipment
Three lathes. One controlled result.
The machine is selected according to the wheel design, diameter, profile and work required.
Workshop CNC lathe
Used for a broad range of standard diamond-cut wheel profiles requiring controlled workshop machining.
Specialist profile lathe
Selected for wheel profiles and machining requirements better suited to a different configuration.
Mobile CNC system
Our mobile refurbishment van contains specialist CNC technology for suitable repairs at your location.
Structural inspection
Buckled wheel inspection and straightening
Pothole and impact damage can distort an alloy wheel, resulting in vibration, pressure loss or uneven tyre wear.
Suitable wheels can be corrected using specialist straightening equipment. We will advise where a wheel is unsafe or inappropriate to repair.
- Inspection for buckles and distortion
- Specialist straightening equipment
- Run-out checked before refinishing
- Clear advice where repair is unsuitable
Custom colours
Factory-style or completely individual.
Choose a restrained manufacturer-inspired finish or create a stronger contrast with satin, gloss, bronze, anthracite or bespoke colours.
Diamond-cut alternative
Two-tone powder coating
Some diamond-cut wheels are no longer suitable for further machining, while other owners prefer a finish that is easier to maintain.
A two-tone powder finish can recreate a contrasting appearance without machining the wheel face.
- Alternative to repeat diamond cutting
- Contrasting face and background colours
- Fully powder-coated protective finish
- Wheel design assessed before work begins

TPMS diagnosis and replacement
TPMS valves can corrode or become damaged and sensors can fail over time. Refurbishment is an ideal opportunity to inspect their condition.
Our workshop and mobile tyre team can diagnose faults, replace damaged valve components and supply replacement sensors where required.
- TPMS sensor diagnosis
- Corroded valve-stem replacement
- Replacement sensors available
- Workshop and mobile tyre support
Complete visual upgrade
Brake caliper refurbishment
Freshly refurbished wheels can highlight tired or corroded brake calipers. Caliper refinishing can be completed alongside wheel refurbishment to create a more consistent result.
The appropriate method and price depend on the vehicle, caliper condition and level of refurbishment required.
- Caliper cleaning and preparation
- Factory-style and custom colour options
- Can be combined with wheel refurbishment
- Condition assessed before work begins
Repairs at your location
Not every wheel needs a full workshop refurbishment.
Suitable cosmetic kerb damage, scratches and selected diamond-cut repairs can be completed by our fully equipped mobile alloy wheel refurbishment van.
